Weather of Waikiki

The climate of the Hawaiian island of Waikiki is typical for a tropical area, although temperatures and humidity tend to be a bit away from the extremes as compared to other tropical locales because of the constant trade winds, which blow over it from the direction of the east. The highest temperature during peak summer season is mostly in the upper 80 degree Fahrenheit which is about 31 degree Celsius during daytime and about 70 degree Fahrenheit which is about around 24 °C during the night time.

In winters there is not too much change in the temperature of the island's neighborhood and the range of temperature during the daytime is about low to middle of 80s on the Fahrenheit scale which is about 28 degrees on the Celsius scale and around in the middle of the 60s on the Fahrenheit scale which is about 18 degree on the Celsius scale during night.

In the surrounding areas of Waikiki there is snow, which is not usually a characteristic of the tropics and still is seen in the area. The area of Waikiki like the rest of Hawaii experiences only two seasons through out the year these are of summer which lasts from may to October and then winter which begins in the month of October and ends by the month of April. The Waikiki plain falls in the win ward side as it faces the trades of the North East and receives a greater amount of rainfall as compared to the other areas on the islands. This thus forms popular tourist destination.
