	The Manoa Jazz Festival being held for the first time The Andrews Amphitheatre is the venue where the Manoa Jazz Festival is going to be held for the first time. The jazz played will be of world class, and will include players who are favorites in the local scene, such as the Honolulu Jazz Quartet, the New Orleans Straight Ahead, the Noel Okimoto ‘Ohana, as well as Devin Phippips who has made headlines. The festival is scheduled to be held on September 27 of this year. The location of the festival is the Andrews Amphitheatre which is situated on the UH Manoa campus.

Opening of Kimobean Coffee

Those people who have come to Waikiki for a vistit, or even those people who live here, and are looking for a cup of coffee which has been freshly brewed and is hundred percent premium coffee grown in Hawaii, can go to Kimobean Coffee. This internet café and coffee bar has just been opened and is located at the Ohana East Hotel. Kimobean Coffee is on the upper lobby level of the hotel. There are only a total of four Kimobean outlets in Oahu, and the one at the Ohana East Hotel is one of them.

The Junior League community project

The Junior League will be starting a new community project which is titled Going for the Gold. This project is supposed to start on September 6 of this year, and includes the new members of the Junior League. The PACT, or the Parents and Children Together are also taking part in this project with the Junior League. The aim of Going for the Gold is to form an Olympic extravaganza in which almost a hundred children will be able to take part. The inspiration they have received is from the Olympic Games which are being held in Beijing.

Honolulu Family Festival

The Honolulu Family Festival is being held for the past two years, and for both the years it has been very successful. The number of people who have attended the festival has been record breaking. This festival is being held again this year. The venue of the festival is Magic Island, and the duration of the festival is two whole weeks. It will be full of rides, food, entertainment, and a lot more. The Honolulu Family Festival started on August 7 of this year, which was a Thursday, and will go up to August 17, 2008, which is a Sunday.

Maui Conference back on the road.

After being in Maui for a period of fifteen years, the Maui Writers Conference has returned to the island of Oahu to hold the conference for this year. The name of the Maui Writers Conference has been changed to the Maui Writers Conference on the Road in Honolulu, and the location has been changed as well. It is now being held in the neighborhood of Waikiki in Oahu. The venue of the conference is at the Hawaii Convention Centre. It will start from August 29 of this year, which is a Friday, and will go up to September 1, 2008.
